Mentorship & Networking (For Engineers By Engineers)

IEK North-Rift on 29th September brought together engineers from the counties of Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Turkana, Trans Nzoia, West Pokot as well as the Engineers fraternity in both Moi University (Main Campus) & University of Eldoret (UoE) during the launch of ‘Mentorship and Networking’ program.

During the inaugural President’s Dinner sponsored by Stima Sacco, and Ocelot Softwares, the close to 70 engineers in categories of Consulting, Professional, Graduate, and Student Engineers joined their institution President Eng. Erick Ohaga.

The 1st VP Eng. Grace Kagondu, 2nd VP Eng. Christine Ogut in the company of Uasin Gishu Executive Committee Members; CECM. Martha Cheruto and CECM. Lucy Ng’endo – both engineers, were in attendance, at the dinner held in Eldoret Sirikwa Hotel.
Also joining them were council members Eng. Patrick Otuoma – Chair (IEK North-Rift), Eng. Harrison Keter – Chair (IEK South Rift). The speakers underscored the need of mentoring engineers to scale up the ladder of professionalism.

The fraternity thanked H.E Hon. Jonathan Chelilim Bii for nominating four engineers to serve in his Executive Committee. Moreover, they called on the national government to ring fence the local Kenyan market for Kenyan engineers who have sufficient competences to undertake engineering projects as well as any other foreign engineers. The engineers affirmed their commitment to accede to the Washington Accord to enable their engineers to practice engineering across the world.
